Topic: Information Security: Trends and Development
Prof. Kai-Lung Hui

Outline: We will discuss the prevailing threats and vulnerabilities faced by organizations as well as the practical challenges that organizations encounter in managing their digital assets. We will also discuss trends in information security management including cyber-extortion, Internet of things, big data analytics and compromise of business processes, block chain and smart contracts.

Topic: Decision Making from Accounting Perspective
Prof. Tony Shieh

Outline: How to make optimal business decision? We will introduce two accounting concepts: Cost-Volume-Profit (CVP) and Operating Leverage. Practical examples will be drawn on to explain how to use CVP Analysis to decide on needed sale for break-even or targeted profit and how to use Operating Leverage as a risk indicator to assess the company profit changes.
